Chris Wadas is being recognized for his tremendous impact on the running community as both an accomplished athlete and one of the most successful collegiate coaches in Northeastern Pennsylvania. A former standout runner at Misericordia University, Wadas has gone on to mentor countless athletes, earn multiple Coach of the Year honors, and help shape the future of distance running in our region. His dedication to the sport, commitment to athlete development, and decades of service make him a deserving recipient of this Runner Spotlight.

Achievements:
Chris Wadas is one of Northeastern Pennsylvania's most accomplished runners and coaches. As a standout athlete, he captured numerous victories at some of the region's premier road races and earned recognition as one of the top distance runners in the Wyoming Valley. Following his competitive career, he returned to Misericordia University, where he built one of the area's most successful collegiate cross country and track & field programs. During his coaching tenure, he has led teams to multiple conference championships, earned numerous Coach of the Year honors, and guided athletes to NCAA Championship appearances, All-American status, and national titles. His impact on the local running community spans decades as both a competitor and mentor.
