ST. PATRICK'S PARADE 2 MILE FOOTRACE
EVENTS:  2 MILE RACE
LOCATION:  Registration is at the Lackawanna College Student Union Center (the old CYC) 600 Jefferson. Start is not!

INFO:  The race will immediately start at 11 am so that all runners will have time to pass the turn-around point quick enough so that the race does not hold up the parade.
This race is the first event of the season in Scranton and is the oldest road race in the Scranton Area.
The course is out & back relatively flat with some gently rolling hills,run entirely on the parade route.
Runners are asked to stay to the right at all times so not to interfere with the other runners.
It will start right in front of the Scranton Cultural Center (420 N Washington Ave) and follow the parade route backwards to the 1 mile turnaround point in front of St Peter's Cathedral (Wyoming and Linden). The race will finish back in front of the Scranton Cultural Center.
Registration on the day of the race, will be from 9 am to 10:45 a.m. at Lackawanna College Student Union Center (the old CYC) 600 Jefferson. Registration will end promptly so that runners will have time to get to the starting line.
Runners who pre-registered will pick up their race numbers and t-shirts at this time and place. Souvenir T-shirts are provided by our sponsors and will be given to the first 250 registered runners.
The awards ceremony will be held in the lobby of the Washington West High-Rise Apartments right after the race and is expected to conclude no later than 12:00 p.m., so that you can enjoy the parade.
Trophies will be awarded to the first & second place male & female runners overall. Plaques will be awarded to the top 2 male & female runners in the following age categories: 12 and under, 13-17, 18-22, 23-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, & 60 and over.
Pre-registration is $12.00 and must be post marked by March 7, Race Day Registration is $15.
Race will be postponed in the event of severe weather or if the parade is postponed.

FOLLOW THESE RULES-Times listed are for start time. In most cases registration begins at least an hour before start and many times two hours. You should try to arrive at least 30 minutes to register. Remember to double check your tag or bib, for your name, gender and age. Make sure the info is readable and correct. Tags should be pinned to the front of your body and not behind.
When you finish make sure you do not pass the runner ahead of you in the chute, stay single file and make sure the person takes your tag or records your nmber, if you lose your tag or bib make sure the times marks your info down.
